She was born Feb. 21, 1915 in Kaukauna to the late Michael and Cat harine (Dericks) Verhagen. Dorothy and her husband Richard, were the form er managers of the Nitingale Ballroom and the American Legion Club, Applet on. Dorothy was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Ladies Elks a nd Ladied Knights of Columbus. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-l aw, Barbara and William Merkley, Green Bay; two grand daughters, Melissa M erkley, Green Bay; Michele (Jon) Zink, Waukesha; two brothers and three si sters-in-law, James and Dote Verhagen, Kaukauna; Michael and June Verhage n, Appleton; Pat Verhagen, Wrightstown; three sisters, Josephine George, K aukauna, Barbara Van Asten, Little Chute, Jenette Van Deurzen, Little Chut e; her husband's sister, Ann Wolf.
