- Mary Christine (Emmers) Wittman, 86 years old, passed away on Saturday April 16, 2016. Mary was born on July 19, 1929 to John and Anna (Block) Emmers in Appleton, WI. Mary graduated from Kaukauna High School in 1948 and worked various clerical jobs over the years. On January 14, 1950, Mary began her matrimonial journey with Harvey Wittman. They celebrated 65 years of marriage until his death in 2015.
Mary was an avid bird watcher, she loved to travel with her late husband Harvey, son Jay and later with friends that hold a special place in her heart. Mary had a love for gardening, reading, crafting, camping with her son Robin, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mary is further survived by her sons Lee Wittman, Sheboygan; Robin Wittman, Kaukauna; Jay Wittman, Austin, Texas; her grandchildren and great grandchildren Jocelyn (Robert) Aho and their children Cassandra and Wesley; Brandon (Sara) Wittman and their children Haylie and Reed, Kristin Olson and her children Sophia, Noah and Zara. Mary is further survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and many special friends whom were all dear to her. Mary is preceded in death with her beloved husband of 65 years Harvey Wittman, parents John and Anna Emmers, sister Theresa (Harvey) Stumpf, brother-in-law Elmer Wittman, a very dear friend and sister-in-law Mildred Wittman, Aunt Katherine Budke, and a great grandson Owen Olson. Mary was especially grateful for her Aunt Christina Dier who became a much loved second mother when Mary's mother passed in 1946.
Funeral services for Mary will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at ST. KATHARINE DREXEL PARISH AT ST. MARY CHURCH, 119 W Seventh Street, Kaukauna with Fr. Jerry Pastors officiating.
