- Betty Jane Schneider, 75, the Town of Vinland, died Saturday evening, Nov. 20, 2004 at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Appleton, Wis., after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born on Jan. 23, 1929, in Oshkosh, Wis., the daughter of the late Edwin and Elsie (Johnson) Domer. She attended schools in Oshkosh and Minneapolis. She married Donald Schneider on May 21, 1949, in Oshkosh and they have made their home in the Town of Vinland ever since. Betty was employed for a short time for New American Bank of Oshkosh and for 20 years as part time secretary for Winnebago Co. Extension Office. Betty belonged to St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, Oshkosh, Progressive Homemakers and the Four Seasons Study Club. First and foremost in Betty's life was her family.
She is survived by her husband, Donald; one daughter and son-in-law, Linda and William Luce, Winneconne; one son, Gary Schneider, Minocqua; four grandchildren, Aaron and Schaune Luce, Winneconne; Travis and Catherine Luce, Neenah; Eric Schneider and his friend, Kayla Tesch, Neenah; Sara Schneider, the Town of Vinland; 2 great grandchildren, Jordan and Mason Luce and nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by one brother, Dale and one sister, Vernis Manthei.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2004 at 7 p.m. at Mueller Funeral Home, Winneconne, with Pastor Joel Olsen and intern Stacy Grau officiating. Burial will be at Lake View Memorial Park, Oshkosh. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 3 p.m. until the hour of services.
The family would like to thank Dr. Robert Geller and his staff and the nursing staff at St. Elizabeth Hospital for their tender loving care.
