  Retired Riverboat Captain Succumbs Leo A. Martell, 70, of 104 Brothers street, Kaukauna, retired Fox riverboat captain, died at noon Monday at the veterans' hospital. Wood, after an illness of about a year. He was born Sept. 8,1889, in West De Pere. He worked on the Fox river for about 50 years, retiring as a captain. He was an employee of the Fox River Navigation company for 33 years. He also served in the navy during World war I. Funeral services will be at 9:30 a. m. Thursday at Holy Cross Catholic church, Kaukauna, with burial in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the Fargo Funeral home. Kaukauna. after 2 p. m. Wednesday. The rosary will be recited at 8 p. m. Wednesday. Survivors include the widow; one daughter. Mrs. Eugene Vandehey. Kaukauna; and five grandchildren.
