- Anna F. Verkuilen, age 101, of Kaukauna, passed away on Friday, February 28, 2014. She was born on January 31, 1913, to the late George and Anna Van Schyndel. Anna always had a very strong faith and was a longtime member at Holy Cross Catholic Church. She always loved attending mass, especially the early morning mass at 5:00 a.m. Anna also cared deeply about her family. She enjoyed staying close and visiting with everyone. Having ten children, Anna was always a hard worker and loved taking care of her children. She also was an avid card player, especially Sheephead and also liked cheering for the Packers. Anna was loved dearly by her family, and she will be truly missed. She is survived by her children, Anna Marie (Merlin) Hein, John (Carol) Verkuilen, Robert (Gloria) Verkuilen, Dolores (Bruce) Schulz, Patricia (Harry) Schulz, George (Diane) Verkuilen, Joe (Marilyn) Verkuilen, Fran Verhagen, Beverly Bangart, Jim (Sharon) Verkuilen; 29 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Evelyn Van Schyndel; other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Verkuilen; brothers, Henry (Genevieve) Van Schyndel, Martin Van Schyndel, Richard (Lucille) Van Schyndel, Joseph (Elaine) Van Schyndel, Bernard Van Schyndel, Arnold (Agnes) Van Schyndel; sister, Frances (Robert) Drephal; and sons-in-law, Walter Verhagen and Allen Bangart. Funeral liturgy for Anna will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 3, 2014, at HOLY CROSS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 309 Desnoyer Street, Kaukauna. A time of visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. She will be laid to rest at Highland Memorial Park. Online condolences may be expressed at www.wichmannfargo.com.
