  The death of Math Helf, one of the well known residents of the city, occurred last Friday at Plymouth at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Gerhard Klunk. Mr. Helf had been unwell for about two years. As a preparation for death he was fortified by the sacrament of the Catholic church. Mat Helf was born in Prussia, Germany in 1851, and at the age of four located at St. Peters, Fond du Lac County. Later he settled in Kaukauna where he resided except for the greater part of the past two years which he spent with his daughter at Plymouth and his son at Hilbert.He was a kind husband and was a member of Holy Cross court No. 309 C.O.F. and Branch 64 C.K. of Wis. He leaves to mourn his loss, a wife, Mrs. M. Helf of this city and seven children namely; Joseph of Montana, Jacob of Gillette, Mrs. Klunk of Plymouth, Kate of Milwaukee, George of Hilbert, and two daughters who belong to the Franciscan order, one being located at Petoska and the other at Sawyer; also two brothers and two sisters, George of Hatley, Peter of Milwaukee, Mrs. M. Bergs of St. Cloud, Minn., and Mrs. Datch of Milwaukee; also four step children. The funeral was held Tuesday morning at the Catholic Church in Plymouth, interment being in the Parish cemetery. Father Bernard of Milwaukee, a nephew of the deceased officiated. Jos. Faust, L. E. Vandenberg and Nic Huss of the C.O.F. and John Rank, Wm. Brill and Jacob Kline of the C.K. of Wis., all of Kaukauna, acted as pallbearers. The deceased was the father of Geo. Helf, our local harnessmaker. Hilbert Favorite – November 30, 1911
