- Pearl A. Sieber (Botker), 77, Hortonville, passed away Saturday, March 22, 2008, at Grand Horizons Assisted Living, Appleton. She was born February 9, 1931, in Appleton, WI, the daughter of the late Fredrick and Emma (Koehler) Botker. She was united in marriage to Ronnel Sieber on May 29, 1948, at Zion Lutheran Church in Appleton and he preceded her in death in 1999. The Lord blessed them with 51 years of marriage. Pearl did clerical work for several companies in Appleton and then went back to school to pursue her dream of being a teacher. She graduated from U.W. Oshkosh with a Bachelor of Science degree. Pearl then taught at Neenah and Chilton Public Schools for over 30 years. Upon retirement, Pearl and Ronnel spent many years enjoying their home on Munger Lake in Lakewood, WI.
Pearl is survived by daughter, Glenna Handschke, Hortonville; son, Dr. Robert (Dr. Margaret Orzel) Sieber of Hortonville; grandchildren: Jonathan Handschke, Hortonville, Lowell Handschke, Plano, TX, Gloria Handschke, Hortonville; great-granddaughter, Kathryn Pearl O'Kane, Hortonville; sisters: Eileen Steingraber, New London, Ruth Rohloff, Clintonville, Inez Hanson, Fremont, Nancy (Al) Fye, Menasha; Doris (James) Murray, Appleton; Audrey (Roger) Sprotte, Woodruff and Sandra (Orville) Schuelke, Fremont; brother, Keith (Joan) Botker, Appleton; brother-in-law Eugene Becker, Shiocton; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; five infant siblings; two sisters: Joyce Becker and Lucille Dey; son-in-law Erwin Handschke; brothers-in-law: Clarence Steingraber, Harold Hanson, Bernerd Wilhelm and Carson Dey.
Funeral Services for Pearl will be held at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, March 27, 2008, at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, Greenville, with Rev. Nate Reichle officiating. Friends may visit the family from 3:30 p.m. until the time of services at the church Thursday afternoon. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a memorial fund has been established.
The family would like to thank the staffs of Grand Horizons, Brighton Place, Encore and Heartland Hospice for their care and concern of mom and the family.
