- Ver Voort, GladysGladys (Kerrigan) Ver Voort, age 90, of Freedom, died Friday, December 3 1, 2004 surrounded by her family. Gladys was born November 15, 1914 to t he late John and Bridget (McDaniel) Kerrigan in the town of Freedom. She m arried John Ver Voort on June 27, 1940 in Wrightstown. He preceded h er in death on December 20, 2003. John and Gladys farmed in the Town of Fr eedom for many years. Gladys graduated from the Outagamie Co. Teachers Col lege and taught for many years as an elementary teacher. She dedicated mu ch of her life to the youth, including 45 years as a 4-H Leader in Outagam ie County, advisor to the Farm Bureau Older Youth and was a school teach er starting in a one-room school and more recently she taught at Holy Cros s, Holy Name and St. Pius X. She was a longtime and active member of St. N icholas Catholic Church.She is survived by five children, daughter, Karin (Dick) Landwehr, Appleto n, their children, Dr. Kim (Dr. Matt) Schuller and Troy Landwehr; daughte r, Shelia (Jim) Letter, Pulaski, and their children, Jeff (Carol) Lette r, Jody (Kai) Letter, Jon (Dr. Vicki Wilke) Letter, Jaime (Dave) Owen; so n, Allan (Mary) Ver Voort, Madison, their children, Kristin & Rachel; daug hter, Jillene (Ken) Dorn, Shiocton and their children, Travis (Thi) Dor n, Shane (Paula) Dorn and Dr. Clint Dorn; son, Meldon (Debra) Ver Voort, F reedom and her daughter, Christina (Robert) Murphy. She is further surviv ed by 14 great-grandchildren, a sister, Rosella (Ray) Vander Heiden, Neena h, a brother, Gordon (Blanche) Kerrigan, Kaukauna and a sister-in-law Doro thy Kerrigan. She will also be missed by her husband's family, Ray & Berni ce Ver Voort and Corneila Coenen.She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John, her grandso n, Todd Landwehr and four brothers, Elmer, Earl, Harvey and Patrick.The Mass of Christian Burial will be Noon on Tuesday January 4, 2005 at S T. NICHOLAS CATHOLIC CHURCH in Freedom with Fr. Dennis Ryan officiating. F riends will be received on Monday at the Boettcher Family Funeral Home, 24 01 Fieldcrest Drive, Kaukauna from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a 7:30 p .m. parish prayer service and again at Church on Friday from 10:30 a.m. un til the time of service.
