- Rose A. Hietpas, age 92, of Appleton, died on Tuesday, June 26, 2007, at Century Oaks in Neenah. Rose was born on August 5, 1914, in Little Chute, to the late George and Anna (Coenen) Janssen. She married Joseph Hietpas in Appleton, on May 28, 1938; he preceded her in death on August 29, 1965. Rose was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a longtime member of St. Therese Catholic Church and was an avid sports fan, especially enjoying cheering on the Green Bay Packers.
Survivors include her sons: Marv (Polly) Hietpas, Appleton; Gary (Barbara) Hietpas, Appleton; Don (Kris) Hietpas, Appleton; her daughters-in-law, Rita (Gene) Wieczorek, Kimberly; and Kathy Hietpas, Appleton; her sister, Dorothy Schmidt, Appleton; her 15 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her sons, Bob Hietpas, and Rick Hietpas; her sisters: Ceil (John) Jaykoski, Mary (Melvin) Rettler, Clara (Art) Hinz, Alice (Herb) Smith; her brothers: Ben (Anne), Ray (Mae), and Rich Janssen; and her brother-in-law, Mike Schmidt.
The Funeral Liturgy will be at 4 p.m. on Friday, June 29, 2007, at ST. THERESE CATHOLIC CHURCH, Morrison Street at Wisconsin Avenue, Appleton, with Fr. William Hoffman officiating. Friends may call directly at the church on Friday from 2:30 p.m. until the time of services. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery, Little Chute.
The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff at ThedaCare Hospice, the staff at Century Oaks and the staff at St. Paul Home for their loving care. A memorial has been established in her name to benefit St. Therese Catholic Church or ThedaCare Hospice Foundation.

Inadvertently omitted from yesterday's obituary was her infant grandson, Jeffrey Hietpas, who preceded her in death.
