He was born on June 7, 19 23 in Kaukauna, son of the late Earl and Elizabeth (Rueden) Hooyman. On Se ptember 8, 1948 he married Agnes Peeters at St. Mary's Catholic Chur ch in Bear Creek. Herb was a farmer until he retired in 1985. He loved pla ying cards with family and friends.He was a very active member of St. Denis Church and was a member of the ca tholic Knights. Herb was a 4th Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus a nd past Grand Knight of Council 7895. He also served on the Town of Bovi na Board for many years.Herb is survived by his 11 children: Francis Hooyman, Shiocton; Jim (Jo y) Hooyman, Shiocton; Jerry (Lorraine) Hooyman, Shiocton; Mary Sue (Joh n) Schmude, Missouri; Jean (Jerome) Schroth, Shiocton; Rita (Dan) Schrot h, Shiocton; Elaine (Dan) Conradt, Shiocton; Paul (Connie) Hooyman, Shioct on; Carla (Al) Chizek, Black Creek; Bill Hooyman, Shiocton; Bonnie Hooyma n, Shiocton; 39 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Further survivi ng him are his sisters: Hildie Fermanich, New London; Helena (Nick) Kruzic ki, Clintonville; Rose Ann (Don) Smith, Sparks, Nevada; Theresa Buchner, K imberly; sisters-in-law: Mary Lou Dorn, Appleton; Audrey Hooyman, Black Cr eek; Dorothy (Jim) Mackowiak, Clintonville; Helen (John) Mackowiak, Manaw a; Elizabeth Hansen, Menasha; Rose (Willis) Fritz, Clintonville; Helen M ae Peeters, New London; brothers-in-law: Roland Kanaman, Shiocton and Mart in Peeters, Shiocton.He is preceded in death by his wife Agnes; his parents; a son Robert; a da ughter Joan; a grandson Zachary Chizek; brothers: Alex (Butch) Hooyman, Eu gene Hooyman; sisters: Clara Petit and Betty Kanaman; brothers-in-law: Wal ly Buchner, Victor Fermanich, Leander Petit, Joseph Peeters, Anthony Peete rs and Jim Hansen; and a sister-in-law Rose Peeters.Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 17, 2004 at 11 a.m. at S t. Denis Catholic Church in Shiocton with Fr. John Kastenholz officiatin g. Burial will be in the St. Denis Parish Cemetery in Shiocton. Friends m ay call at the St. Denis Church on Thursday, December 16, 2004 from 4-8 p. m. where a 7:30 prayer services will be held. Friends may call also ca ll at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.Dad you will be missed but we all know your heart longed to be with mom. O ur family functions will never be the same, but you can rest assured yo ur children will carry on the many traditions you and mom passed on.
