- Van Boxtel, Elizabeth J., Kimberly, Age 78, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday October 26, 2003 at Cherry Meadows with her family by her side. Elizabeth was born December 31, 1924 to the late Martin and Odelia (Verhagen) Gerrits in Kimberly. She married Cornelius A. Van Boxtel on June 29, 1949 at Holy Name in Kimberly. Elizabeth enjoyed cards, bingo, cooking, baking and making sure "everyone was fed." She loved her grandchildren and spoiled them as much as possible.
She is survived by her husband Cornelius Van Boxtel; one son, David (Becky) Van Boxtel and their children, Bridget and Peggy; two daughters, Nancy (Gary) Rietveld and their two sons, Matthew and Evan; and Cindy (Rick) Christians and their two daughters, Caitlyn and Carly; two brothers Joe Gerrits and LaVerne "Grut" (Mary) Gerrits and one sister, Marge Schmidt and many nieces and nephews and friends. She will also be missed by two sisters in law, Bernice (Chet) Kriplean and Florence Zehren and two brothers in law, Joe (Delores) Van Boxtel and Rich (Carol) Van Boxtel.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Van Boxtel, her parents, two brothers, Clarence Gerrits and Wilbert "Bill" Gerrits and four sisters, Lucy Montonati, Alice Janssen, Ceil Van Beek and Martha Jansen and many brothers and sisters in law.
The Funeral Liturgy will be 5:00 p.m. on Thursday October 30, at HOLY NAME of JESUS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 602 E. Kimberly Avenue, Kimberly with Msgr. James Vanden Hogan officiating. Friends will be received on Thursday at Church from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service. Interment will take place Friday at the Parish Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established in her name. The Boettcher Family Funeral Home, Kaukauna is assisting the family. 766-2099.
