- Van Asten, William "Bill"William "Bill" Van Asten, of Freedom, age 91, lived and died peaceful ly in the same house he was born in on Tuesday, December 14, 2004. Bill w as born January 1, 1913 to the late Henry and Caroline (Daul) Van Aste n. He married the former Marian Vissers on September 28, 1944 at St. Jo hn Catholic Church in Little Chute. On September 28th, Marian and Bill cel ebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with all their children and grand c hildren in attendance. Bill farmed on the family homestead, also worked co nstruction and helped build St. Nicholas grade school in freedom. He enjoy ed gardening and raising little pigs. Our Dad and Grandpa will be sadly mi ssed.He is survived by his wife, Marian Van Asten; three daughters: Beverly V an Asten of Freedom, Marilyn (Randy) Adler of Coloma and Sherry (Rick) DeR uyter of Seymour; two sons: Mark (Marcy) Van Asten of Freedom and Joseph ( Theresa) Van Asten of Freedom; three sisters: Mary Van Der Heiden, Alma (O rville) Van Evenhoven and Rose (Joe) Van Der Heiden; and a brother-in-la w, Leo Micke. He is further survived by relatives from Marian's family, th ree brothers-in-law: George Vissers, Elmer Vissers and Sylvester Visser s; sisters-in-law: Geraldine (Donald) Pennings and Frances Vissers.He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Blanche and Edward V an Handel, a brother, Martin and Josephine Van Asten and two infant brothe rs, Clarence and Raymond, an infant granddaughter, Nicole, a sister Joseph ine Micke and a brother-in-law Leo Van Der Heiden. He was further preced ed in death by sisters-in-law: Frances Vissers, Evelyn Vissers, Bonnie Vis sers, a brother-in-law, Wilbert Vissers and Jake and Ella Van Wychen, Till ie and Ervin Welhouse, Frank and Minnie Zwiers, Frank and Harriet Weyenbe rg and Frank and Florence Weyers.Bill's mass of Christian Burial will be Noon on Friday December 17, 20 04 at ST. NICHOLAS CATHOLIC CHURCH in Freedom with Fr. Dennis Ryan officia ting. Friends will be received on Thursday at the Boettcher Family funer al Home, 2401 Fieldcrest Drive, Kaukauna from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. with a 7 :30 p.m. parish prayer service and again at Church on Friday from 10:30 a. m. until the time of service. Interment will follow Bill's service in t he parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers a memorial is being establish ed in Bill's name. Little ChuteAge 90, died Thursday, June 7, 2001, at Parkside Care Center with her fami ly at her side. She was born January 31, 1911, in Grand Chute, daught er of Martin and Deleest (Adelia) Vissers. Minnie married Frank Zwie rs at St. John Catholic Church, Little Chute, where she was a lifetime mem ber and he preceded her in death. She enjoyed keeping her yard beautiful a nd planting flowers around the house.
Mrs. Zwiers is survived by her three children, Joyce Mischler, Kaukauna; K aren (Curtiss) Skorczewski, Black Creek; Roger (Eyla Mae) Zwiers, Kaukaun a; sixteen grandchildren, Renee (Jeff) VandeHey, Randy (Amy) Mischler, Ga il (Jim) Dedering, Brian (Val) Zwiers, Jeff (Diane) Zwiers, Bruce (Jill) Z wiers, David Zwiers, Paula Zwiers and fiance Mike, Kathy (Steve) Gossen s, Cheryl (Brian) Melchert, Deborah (Tim) Arndt, Dan (Karen) Skorczewsk i, Denise (Don) Schumacher, Brenda (Scott) Heinzen, Christopher Skorczews ki and his special friend Dawn. Bob Skorczewski, 38 great-grandchildren a nd three great-great-grandchildren; three brothers, Elmer (Evelyn) Visser s, Ves Vissers, George (Frances) Vissers; two sisters, Marian (Bill) Van A sten and Geraldine (Don) Pennings; two sisters-in-law, Frances Vissers a nd Ann Hupp; two brothers-in-law, Morris (Gertrude) Zwiers and Mike (Chri s) Zwiers. She was also preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law, Fran cis Mischler; four sisters, Ella (Jake) Van Wychen, Tillie (Erv) Welhous e, Harriot (Frank) Weyenberg, Florence (Frank) Weyers; one brother, Bill V issers; one sister-in-law, Bonnie Vissers; three brothers-in-law, Arnold ( Marie) Zwiers, Carl (Frances) Zwiers and Tony (Gladys) Zwiers.
Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 12, 2001, at St. Jo hn Catholic Church, Little Chute, with the Rev. Msgr. James Vanden Hogen o fficiating. Interment will be in Saint John Cemetery. Friends may ca ll at the church from 3 p.m. Tuesday until the time of mass.
