- Helen Jean Lutzow, Kaukauna, age 84, was born on November 1, 1923, in Freedom, to the late Nicolas and Nellie (Wydeven) Huss. Jean went home to be with the Lord on December 12, 2007, after a brief stay at St. Paul Rehabilitation Unit in Kaukauna. Jean worked at Kimberly-Clark during the war. She married Stanley George Lutzow on November 1, 1945, upon his return from serving his country in World War II. She spent the rest of her life in loving service to her family and the home Stan built for them.
Helen is survived by her sons: Thomas J. Lutzow and his wife of 38 years, Mary Kay (Romenesko) Lutzow, and David Ronald Lutzow and his wife of 25 years, Tammy (Sedo) Lutzow, her sister Gloria Alger, her dear friend Sally Bartelt, four grandchildren: Mathew Lutzow, Leah Lutzow, Brian Lutzow, and Nora (Randy) Baier; three great grandchildren: Tyler, Taylor and Taite Baier; five nieces: Nancy Smith, Carol (Paul) Biese, Sandy Lopas, Jill Alger, and Susan (Robert) Vandenberg, and a nephew, Eddie Lutzow.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Stanley, her parents, Nick Huss and Nellie Huss (Parker), a sister, Germila Gerhartz, a grandson, Kevin Thomas Lutzow, four brothers-in-law: Howard Lutzow, La Roy Lutzow, Victor Gerhartz, and Bernard (Diz) Alger, and 1 sister-in-law, Grace Lutzow and Tom Lopas.
Helen's Mass of Christian Burial will be 4:30 p.m., Monday, December 17, 2007, at HOLY CROSS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 309 Desnoyer St., Kaukauna, with Fr. Marty Fox officiating. Friends may call directly at church on Monday from 2 p.m. until the time of service. The Boettcher Family Funeral Home is assisting the family. 766-2099.
