- Coonen, AgnesAgnes Coonen (nee Vandenberg), age 96, passed away Sunday, February 6, 200 5, at St. Paul Elder Services in Kaukauna. She was born October 23, 190 8, to Jacob and Nellie (Van Domlen) Lamers. She married Wilfred Vandenbe rg on June 3, 1930. He preceded her in death on March 7, 1974. She then ma rried Elmer Coonen on November 30, 1980. He preceded her in death on Apr il 1, 1987. Agnes was a life-time member of Holy Name Catholic Church, whe re she sang in the choir for many years, and also was president of the Lad ies of Holy Name. She worked with the Mission Ladies from the time they st arted until a few years ago. Agnes volunteered at St. Elizabeth Hospit al as a pink lady for 25 years. She was involved in Girl Scouting for ma ny years and was chairwoman of the yearly cookie drive. And Agnes was a me mber of the Kimberly Homemakers Club.Survivors include her sons, Jim (JoAnn) Vandenberg, of Rothschild, Wis., G ene (Marian) Vandenberg, of Kimberly, and her daughters, Eileen (Paul) Pet rie, of Stockbridge, Wis., Phyllis Smits, Kimberly, and Lois (Ralph) Gag e, of Appleton; a daughter-in-law, Shirley Vandenberg, of Phoenix, Ariz .; there are 35 grandchildren, 66 great-grandchildren, three step-great-gr andchildren, one great-great grandchild; a brother, Arthur (Leone) Lamer s, of Kaukauna; a sister-in-law, Germaine Lamers, of Kimberly; and a broth er-in-law, Bernard Bongers, of Appleton.Agnes was preceded in death by her husbands Wilfred and Elmer, two sons, W ilfred and David, a daughter, Joyce, a son-in-law, Ron Smits, two grandson s, Douglas Smits and Mark Vandenberg, and eleven brothers and sisters.The funeral liturgy will be celebrated tentatively at 5:00 P.M. Tuesday, F ebruary 8, 2005, at Holy Spirit Parish, Holy Name Campus, 620 East Kimber ly Avenue, Kimberly. Rev. Thomas Pomeroy will officiate. Interment wi ll be in Holy Name Cemetery. Friends may call from 3:00 P.M. until the ti me of services directly at the church.
