- JoAnn Marie Lauterborn age 70 of Suring, WI (Chute Pond) passed away at home on Monday, October 27, 2014, with her family by her side. She was born in Wrightstown, on October 28, 1943, to the late Fred and Irene (Coenen) Geurts. JoAnn married Gerald Skalmusky in 1964 and had 3 loving children, Tara (Brian) Schuh, Trisha Skalmusky and Todd (Eva) Skalmusky and later 5 wonderful grandchildren, Alana, and Kyle Schuh, Johnathon and Madison Skalmusky and Sydney Skalmusky.
JoAnn later married Allan T. Lauterborn in 1982 and shared 32 memorable years with his 3 children, Jack (Jubilee) Lauterborn, Jill Lauterborn, Bonnie Lauterborn and 2 step-grandchildren, Madison and Drew Lauterborn.
She was always a hard working woman. First for Dr. Simon Cherkasky for 10 years, then 38 years as Regional Sales Manager at Kaukauna Club Cheese. She then retired at Chute Pond, where she also sold Real Estate and spent many hours on the pontoon boat with family and friends. She fought a hard battle to keep that huge heart beating but finally gave in to dance with the angels.
JoAnn was an active member of the Red Hatters, Chute Pond Snowmobile Club and the Chute Lake District and the Mountain Area Business Association. JoAnn was an avid Green Bay Packer fan.
JoAnn is survived by 3 brothers, Bud (Vicki) Geurts, Dan (Mary) Geurts and Jim (Robin) Geurts; 4 sisters, Arlene (Floyd) Huss, Mary (Marv) VanAsten, Bonnie (Ron) Schmidt and Judy (Dennis) Brockman.
She was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Roland Geurts, Richard Geurts and Jack Geurts; 2 sisters, Shirley Ambroisous and Bee Anthony.
Visitation will be held at St. Michael Catholic Church Chapel at Chute Pond on Saturday, November 1, 2014, from 10 a.m. until the memorial service at 11 a.m. with Deacon William Doran officiating. A celebration of JoAnn's life will follow at the Everbreeze Resort on Chute Pond. On Sunday, November 2, 2014, there will be a celebration of JoAnn's life at Noon in Kaukauna at Cash and Willies (Old Hyland House) at 701 Hyland Avenue Kaukauna, WI.
