  Guntlisbergen, Walter P.Walter P. Guntlisbergen, 88, Oneida, died Saturday, May 14, 2005, at an ar ea nursing home. Walter was born Aug. 23, 1916, the son of the late Arno ld and Anna (Smits) Guntlisbergen in Oneida. On June 17, 1944, he was unit ed in marriage to the former Elizabeth Van Den Heuvel. She preceded h im in death on Oct. 7, 2002. Walter was a lifelong dairy farmer in Onei da until his so-called retirement in 1982. He enjoyed playing cards with f amily and friends and spending time in his garden. Family, faith and a str ong work ethic were very important parts of his life. Walter was an acti ve member at St. Joseph Church, Oneida where he served as an usher and t he cemetery sexton for over 30 years. He was also a Farm Bureau Member a nd belonged to the Holy Name Society.Survivors include his children, Arnold Guntlisbergen, Mary (Max) Behrend t, John (Beth) Guntlisbergen, Jane (Gene) Meiser, and Carol (Bob) Len z; 12 grandchildren, Kari (Shawn) Wilson, Amber, Danielle, David, Joyel a nd Timothy Lenz, Gina, David, Michael Guntlisbergen, and Andrew, Matthew a nd Grace Meiser; three great-grandchildren, Heaven, Harley and Henry; o ne sister, Helen Angrabright; and two sisters-in-law, Delores and Lois V an Den Heuvel; he is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews and oth er relatives and many friends.Walter was preceded in death by his parents; wife; one sister, Mary DeGroo t; and two brothers-in-law, Joe DeGroot and Donald Angrabright.Friends may call at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 305 N. 10th St., De Pere, Wednesda y, May 18, 2005, from 4 to 7 p.m. with a 7 p.m. parish wake service. Visit ation will continue Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Oneida from 9: 30 a.m. until time of service. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrat ed at 10:30 a.m. Thursday.
