- Richard Vandehey, 68, lifelong Kimberly resident, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, Jan. 2, 2009, at Brewster Village. He was born on July 7, 1940, in Appleton, the son of the late Donald and Martha (Kempen) Vandehey. He married Joanie Liebergen on Aug. 12, 1961, and together they raised four children. Dick was employed at Kimberly Paper Mill for 30 years, was a life member of Holy Name Parish and a member of Cross & Crown Prayer Group. His faith and religion were an important part of his life. He enjoyed times at his cottage, playing cards and spending time with family.
Richard is survived by his children, Michael (Sharon) Vandehey, Oshkosh; Steven (Laurie) Vandehey, Little Chute; Linda Boschuetz, Wausau; Amy (Kip) Otto, Hortonville; eight grandchildren, Shannon and Steffanie Kinderman, Katie and Abbey Vandehey, Tyler and Ellisha Boschuetz, Christina and Matthew Otto; one great-granddaughter, Kaliyah Salinas; two brothers, Dave (Jacci) Vandehey, Mark (Pat) Vandehey; three stepbrothers, Jim (Janet) Weyenberg, Roy (Kathy) Weyenberg, Tom (Carol) Weyenberg; four stepsisters, Lois (Carl) Hietpas, Dolly (Larry) Diedrick, Mary Ann (Ken) VanderWielen, Carol (Gary) Micke; many nieces and nephews; one special niece, Nikki Vandehey; and former spouse, Joanie (Marv) Heller.
He wa\\s preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Mary Lou Vandehey; and his stepmother, Myrtle Moser Weyenberg Vandehey.
The funeral liturgy for Richard will be held at 12 Noon on Tuesday at HOLY SPIRIT PARISH - KIMBERLY, 600 E. Kimberly Avenue. The burial will take place in the parish cemetery. Friends will be received at the church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass.
