- Arthur William Krause, age 88, of Hortonville, passed away on Sunday, September 25, 2016 at is home, with his loving family at his side. Arthur was born on March 3, 1928, son of the late Arthur and Ethel (Pagel) Krause Sr. On June 1, 1946, he was united in marriage to Gladys Riehl in Hortonville. Arthur was a dairy farmer all of his life and also a volunteer fireman for many years. One of Art's greatest joys was to be in one of his John Deere tractors working the land. He also enjoyed bowling, playing cards, but especially loved being with his family.
Arthur is survived by his children, Carol Lillge, Keith (Sharon) Krause, Kay (Mike) DeBraal, Cheryl (Stephen) Bergmann and Michelle (Ken) Stoffel, all of Hortonville; sisters, Karen (Lloyd) Koeppl and Lola Mae (Myron) Reiland, Hortonville. He is further survived by numerous grandchildren, Kevin Cornell, Michael Cornell (special friend Carrie), Melissa (Dan) Heiting, Michael DeBraal Jr., Nicole (Mike) Schultz, Robin (Barb) Krause, Ryan (Julie) Krause, Cory (Kelly) Krause, Paul (Candice) Bergmann, Jason (Eliane) Bergmann, Luke (Tori) Bergmann, Kimberlee (Andy) Derks, Brendan Stoffel (special friend Brittany Bauman), Colin Stoffel, and Jadyn Stoffel; 21 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Arthur was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Gladys; grandson, Jesse Krause and son-in-law, Dennis Lillge.
A funeral service for Arthur will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September, 29, 2016 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Hortonville. Pastor Ralph Rosenberg and Pastor Joel Jenswold will be officiating. Friends may call on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 from 5-8 p.m. at Borchardt & Moder Funeral Home in Hortonville and again Thursday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Entombment will be at Highland Memorial Park in Appleton.
A very special thank you to Arthur's granddaughter, Kimberlee, for all the love and care she gave grandpa. She was his special nurse. The family also wishes to thank the staff at Southern Care Hospice Services for their care and concern.
