- Dorothy M. Spletter, age 81, died on Monday, October 9, 2000 at her hom e. She was born in Freedom on November 9, 1918, to the late John and Ja ne (Hooyman) Weyenberg. On September 28, 1946 she married Leon Spletter. D orothy was a member of St.Pius X Catholic Church. She will be sadly miss ed by her husband, Leon, children Judy (Patrick) Byrne, San Diego, Gary (M ichelle) Spletter, Boston, Dean (Angie) Spletter, Daytona Beach, grandchil dren, Jesica, Melissa and Sarah Byrne, Christopher and Marissa Spletter R yan, Daniel and Lee Spletter, brothers Eugene (Polly) Weyenberg, Appleto n, Orville (Marge) Weyenberg, and Clyde (Ardene) Weyenberg, both of Freedo m, sister Irene Stephani, Appleton sister and brother in-law, Inez Tews, M enasha, and Norm Spletter, Appleton, other relatives and friends.The Funeral Mass will be on Thursday, October 9, 2000 at 11 AM at St.Pi us X Catholic Church, 500 W.Marquette St. The visitation will be on Wednes day at the funeral home from 4 until 8 PM and again on Thursday at the chu rch from 10 AM until the time of the Mass. Entombment will be in Highla nd Memorial Park. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy a memori al has been established. The family would like to thank Theda Care Hospic e, Appleton Medical Center, Dr.Fletcher and nurses Lori and Mel for the ir kindness and care.
