- Virginia L. Martin, 88, died Sunday, August 16, 2015 at her home in Wayside Parkview Estates.
She was born April 25, 1927 in Freedom, WI to the late Fred and Katherine Meulemans Schuh. She married Joe Martin on May 13, 1948 at Freedom, WI. He preceded her in death on March 16, 2011. Virginia was a graduate of Freedom High School. She was an accomplished baker, including making wedding cakes for family and friends and ice cream pails of cookies for the grandchildren. She partnered with Joe in the operation of their dairy farm in the Town of Morrison. They enjoyed polka dancing with the "We Love to Dance Club" and after their retirement, traveled extensively throughout the United States.
Virginia is survived by her children: Ron (Sue) Martin, Wausau; Fred (Dawn) Martin, Fort Mill, SC; Chuck (Jill) Martin, De Pere; Doris (Peter) DeBruin, Kaukauna; Larry (Janice) Martin, Fort Collins, CO; Don (Bonnie) Martin, Kaukauna; Bill (Terri) Martin, Francis Creek; Bev (Dale) Liebergen, Kaukauna; Barb (Rick) Kurth, Abrams; Ralph Martin, De Pere; Peggy (Randy) Nelson, Madison; 25 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren; sisters: Rita Tessen and Ceil Smet; brothers: Jim Schuh and Ted Schuh; sisters-in-law: Judy Schuh and Shirley Schuh; brothers-in-law: Joe Smet and Gerry Smith; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Dick Schuh and Harry Schuh; one sister, Dee Smith; one brother-in-law, Lee Tessen and two sisters-in-law: Betty Schuh and Pat Schuh.
Friends may call on Saturday August 22, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at St. Clare's Catholic Church - St. Patrick's site (7815 St. Pat's Church Road, Askeaton. Mass of Christian Burial 11:30 a.m. at the church with Fr. Dennis Bergsbaken officiating. Burial in St. John's Cemetery, Morrison.
