- Aloysius P. Schuh "Wiss" N4420 State Road 55 Kaukauna Age 87, passed away Sunday, January 23, 2000 at Anna John Nursing Home. Wiss was born April 15, 1912 in Freedom, son of the late Simon and Julia (Young) Schuh. On November 26, 1936, Wiss married the former Genevieve Schmidt in Hollandtown; she preceded him in death on November 8, 1994. Wiss operated a dairy farm in Freedom for many years, and also worked for Stokely Van Camp.
He was a faithful member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Freedom, and over the years enjoyed many hobbies, including playing cards, deer hunting, fishing, and wood working. He always treasured his time spent with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He is survived by seven sons: Jerry (Bev) Schuh, Freedom; Merle (Sharon) Schuh, Freedom; Dan Schuh, Kenosha; Bill (Lynda) Schuh, Kaukauna; Dave (Kay) Schuh, Seymour; Rick (Carolyn) Schuh, Freedom; Joe (Darla) Schuh, Freedom; five daughters: Jean (Allan) Tiedt, Appleton; Darlene (Daryl) Haase, Darboy; Pat (Alan) Hanson, DePere; Joyce (Alan) Garvey, Freedom; Nancy (Randy) Smith, DePere; 35 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Betty (Carl) Evers, Freedom; brother, Joe Schuh, Oconto; brother-in-law, Joe Sevick, Kenosha. Wiss is further survived by Gen's brothers and sisters: Alphonse (Dot) Schmidt, Kaukauna; John (Nancy) Schmidt, Kaukauna; Donald (Margie) Schmidt, Crivitz; Rosella Paczkowski, Kenosha; Evelyn Nehring, Appleton; Harriet Christensen, Racine; as well as by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Wiss was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Genevieve in 1994; a son, Bernie in 1981; a daughter-in-law, Dolly in 1986; a grandson Randal Smith, Jr. in 1979; a granddaughter-in-law, Sue Schuh in 1991; a brother, John (Tillie) Schuh; sisters: Sr. Mary Simplicia Schuh, Agnes (Herman) Vosters, Katie Sevick, Loretta (William) Appleton, Sr.; infant sister, as well as by numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. The funeral liturgy will be held at 12 noon on Wednesday, January 26, 2000 at ST. NICHOLAS CATHOLIC CHURCH, N4088 County Road E, in Freedom with Fr. Dennis M. Ryan and Msgr.
John Schuh officiating. Interment will take place in spring, in the parish cemetery. Friends may call directly at the church on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the hour of the liturgy. The family would like to express their gratitude to Cindy, Debi, and Dar, his twenty-four hour caregivers. Their care and concern for Al the past three years made it possible for him to remain in his home. Thanks also to the staff at the Cardiac Care Unit at Appleton Medical Center and the nursing staff at Anna John Nursing Home - your love, care, and compassion means more to us than words can say. Thank you so very much. Dad - You've given us direction and given us love. Now please guide and direct us from above. You have no more sorrow, no more pain, You're now with our mom - together again.
