  Diedrich, Joseph J., Appleton, Age 76, died peacefully on Thursday, July 25, 2002 at his home, surround ed by his family and Father Falk. He was born in Freedom, Wisconsin on Dec ember 1, 1925 to the late Adrian and Josephine (Daul) Diedrich. On Octob er 3, 1953 he married Joan Ganzen. Joseph was a charter member of St. Thom as More Catholic Church. He graduated from Appleton High School in 194 3. He worked at Fox River Knitting Mill for over 27 years and then work ed for over 16 years at Miller Electric, retiring January 8, 1988. He lik ed to fix things and improvise if he didn't have all the parts he neede d. Joe could make something out of nothing. He especially enjoyed voluntee ring at St. Vincent de Paul, fixing lawn mowers and toys.He will be sadly missed by his wife of 48 years, Joan, children: Diane (Mi chael) Smith, Donna (Bryan) Mangan, Joseph (Kathleen) Diedrich, Linda (Da n) Kahler, Janet (Jeff) Tessen, all of Appleton and Karen (Donald) Marx, H ortonville; grandchildren: Michael Smith, Kelli Logan, Janelle Smith, Stev en Smith, Alana Kluck, Neil Mangan, Laura and Andrew Diedrich, Jamie and D an Kahler, Jon and Nick Selig, Jacklyn and Travis Tessen, Sarah and Adam M arx, and two expected great grandchildren, sisters: Florence (Raymond) Van den Heuvel and Rita (Ernest) Van Boxtel, both of Appleton; sister-in-la w: Yvonne (George) Smith, Appleton, other relatives and friends. In additi on to his parents he was preceded in death by two infant siblings.The Funeral Mass will be on Monday, July 29, 2002 at 11 A.M. at St. Thom as More Catholic Church, 1810 N. McDonald Street, with Father Gerald Fa lk officiating. The visitation wll be on Sunday at the funeral home fr om 4 until 8 P.M. and again on Monday at the church from 9 A.M. until t he time of Mass. There will be a vigil service at 7:30 P.M. on Sunday at t he funeral home. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. The family would l ike to thank Father Gerald Falk, the Visiting Nurses and Hospice of Thedac are at Home and Dr. Rigstad for their great comfort in our time of need.Thank you for being a loving husband, father and grandfather. You would ha ve made a wonderful great grandfather.Joe I love you dearly, you are my other half. Together we are whole. You a re my heart.
