- Giordana, Richard P.Richard P. Giordana, age 72, died Tuesday morning, August 9, 2005, followi ng a short illness, with his family at his side. He was born November 1 5, 1932, to the late Emil and Laura (Diquardo) Giordana, Sr., in Kaukaun a, where he was a resident all of his life. Rich served his country duri ng the Korean Conflict, with the U.S. Army. Following his discharge, Ri ch became the proprietor of the Modern Bar from 1957 to 1970. He was th en employed by Giddings & Lewis and then purchased Rich and Sally's Cov e, which he owned until 2000. Rich enjoyed Kaukauna sports as an umpir e, a participant and fan. He was a prideful Kaukauna Ghost Alumni. Rich w as an avid Packer fan, a season ticket holder and attended two Super Bowl s, in Oakland and Miami. In his spare time, he enjoyed golfing and growi ng his peppers and tomatoes. He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Chur ch and the Kaukauna Electric City VFW Post #3319.He is survived by his wife, Sally A. (Lindstrom) Giordana, with whom he ce lebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary on July 2, 2005 four children, Pa mela A. (Karl) Waichulaitis, Chandler, AZ; Jeff L. (Kelly) Giordana, Kauka una; Troy R. (Patti) Giordana, Longmont, CO; Gino P.(Missy) Giordana, Mena sha; six beloved grandchildren, Aubrey, Jacob, Dacia, Nicolas, Gianna a nd Dominic; three brothers: Frank (Florence) Giordana, Kaukauna; James Gio rdana, Kenosha; Robert Giordana, Kaukauna; three sisters: Sister Jilene, R acine; Mary Hubert, Kaukauna; Janice (Robert) Hammen, Kaukauna; a brother- in-law, Carl (Margaret) Lindstrom, Scottsdale, AZ; three sisters-in-law: L aDonna, Delores and Lorraine Giordana, all of Kaukauna.He was preceded in death by three brothers: Carl, Joseph and Emil Jr. Gior dana, two sisters: Philomena (Rudy) Skalmusky, Lucille (Walter) Schmid t; a brother-in-law, Henry Hubert and two sisters-in-law, Sally and Pauli ne Giordana.A memorial service for Richard will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, August 1 2, 2005, at HOLY CROSS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 309 Desnoyer Street, with Father J ack Mullarkey officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. Frien ds may call at the church on Friday, from 9 a.m. until the time of the mas s.
