  See Image Wittman, Richard F.At age 74, died peacefully after a short battle with Lou Gehrigs Disea se on Friday, October 11, 2002 at Appleton Medical Center, with his fami ly by his side. He was born on May 15, 1928 in the Town of Grand Chute, t he son of the late Michael and Nellie Wittman. Rich married Ida Mae Spauld ing "Tootie" on November 19, 1959.They enjoyed over 42 years of marriage t ogether.Rich worked at Repap (Midtec) for 43 years and retired in 1990. Rich enjoy ed farming, growing his sweet corn and pumpkins. Rich's greatest joy was p laying sheepshead with his friends. He was a member of the 258 Legion Cl ub in Little Chute and 7692 VFW in Freedom. He served in the army during t he Korean War. Rich wa s a member of St. Edward Catholic Church where he w ill be laid to rest.Survivors include his wife, Tootie; children: Michael Wittman; Steve and S helly Wittman and their children; Brent and Stephanie; Dennis and Rhonda W ittman and their children: Angie and David; Debbie and Don Smith (Japan) a nd their children: Wendy, Kenny and wife Yumi; Sandy Wittman and fiancee D ave LuMaye and her children: Jeffrey, Kyle and Jason; Sherry and Jim Kruck eberg and their children: Krissy and Kimberly; a sister, Loretta Arnold a nd a sister-in-law, Helen Wittman, and many other relatives and friends.He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Clarence (Shorty) Wittm an and grand daughter, Alicia Wittman; in-laws: Earl and Evelyn Spauldin g, Sally Johnson and Audrey Steffens.Dad, you were a loving husband, father and grandfather. You watched ov er us on earth and may you go on to be our guardian angel in heaven. We lo ve you. And as Rich would say, "Mach's gut." (take care, good luck)The entire family would like to thank all of the family and friends for th eir thoughts and prayers and the doctors and staff at Appleton Medical Cen ter.The funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 14, 20 02 at St. Edward Catholic Church, N2921 Hwy. 47, Mackville, with Father Ch arles Brooks officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the ti me of the service at the church and also on Sunday evening(TONIGHT) from 4 -8 p.m. ALSO AT THE CHURCH.
