  Verna M. Diedrick, Nee VandenBloomer, Kaukauna, age 91, passed away on Tuesday, March 18, 2008, at Colony Oaks Care Center. She was born December 22, 1916, daughter of the late Albert and Josephine (Skenandore) VandenBloomer in Freedom, WI. On November 15, 1938, married Clarence Diedrick. The couple enjoyed 48 years together prior to his death in 1986. In her younger days Verna enjoyed fishing trips with her husband and spending time at their cottage. She was a good cook and loved baking. Verna always had cookies for the grandchildren and home remedies and cures for any illness. She loved to garden, home canning all she grew. She was a longtime member of Holy Cross Catholic Church. Verna is survived by a son and three daughters: Bill (Mary) Diedrick, Florence Balck, Patricia (David) Brinkman, and Janice (Allen) Champeau, all of Kaukauna; 13 grandchildren, Mary Balck, Gail (Dennis) Judkins, Karen (Joseph) Millard, Richard (Tracy) Balck, Amy (Steve) Hinz, Chris (Debbie) Balck, Kyle Brinkman, Justin Brinkman, Benjamin Champeau, Kelly Champeau, Shannon Diedrick, Alicia Diedrick, and John Diedrick, nine great-grandchildren: Daniel, Domenic, and Alex Judkins, Jeremy and Jon Millard, Cody and Ryan Balck, William Hinz, and Hunter Champeau; four brothers and three sisters-in-law: Harvey (Corrine), Appleton; Kirby (Margaret), Kaukauna; Ray (Bonita) Wrightstown; Bernard (Jackie), Kaukauna; Mary VandenBloomer, Kaukauna; a sister, Carol (Bob) Chosa, Kaukauna; many nieces and nephews. Verna was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence, four brothers: Ed, Herman, Elmer (Donna) and Leo VandenBloomer, two sisters: Josie (Hank) Fox, Lucille (Ves) Vanden Berg. Verna's Mass of Christian Burial will be 12 Noon on Tuesday March 25, 2008 at HOLY CROSS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 309 Desnoyer Street, Kaukauna, with Fr. Martin Fox officiating. Friends will be received on Tuesday at Church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery.
