- Marcella A. Hurst, age 86, Little Chute, died Tuesday, February 1, 2011. She was born January 16, 1925, to the late George and Josephine (Biesterveld) Webb. On August 24, 1944, Marcella married Kenneth B. Hurst at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, Little Chute where she currently was a longtime member. She was a 54 year member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Wrightstown. Tiny loved gardening, puzzles, music, crafts (the best gifts were her Christmas socks), baking (everyone loved her chocolate chip cookies and bread), loved cleaning and doing things for others. She was a very loving person and had the biggest heart and will remain in all of our hearts and memories.
Marcella is survived by her children: Dan (Tweetie) Hurst, Little Chute; Gary (Betz) Hurst, Appleton; Dick (Joyce) Hurst, Little Chute; Pam (James) Watkins, North Carolina; Ken Jr. (Marcella) Hurst, Appleton; Jean (Steve) Reffke, Freedom; Greg (Pam) Hurst, Little Chute; Jay (Cindy) Hurst, Kaukauna; Joan (Terry) Vanden Heuvel, Freedom; Denise (Todd) Bolwerk, Kimberly; grandchildren: Todd (Donna) Hurst, Jason (Lori) Hurst, Kyle (Mary) Hurst, Tara (Dave) Turner, Brian (Lorri) Hurst, Gina (Tom) Boyer, Mike Hurst, Eric (Michelle) Watkins, Corey (Beth) Hurst, Martha (Charles) Monroe, Ken III (Lacey) Hurst, Jessica Hurst, Scott (Tara) Reffke, Kurt (April) Reffke, Brett Hurst, Stacy (Dave) Fieber, Kristin Hurst, John Hurst, Mark Hurst, Cynthia Hurst, Angie Vanden Heuvel, Jeri (Clark) Fox, Lisa Vanden Heuvel, Paul (Nina) Bolwerk, Lee (fianc Katie) Bolwerk, Tyler Bolwerk; 36 great grandchildren; brothers: Bernard (Clara Ann) Webb; Lawrence (Mary) Webb; William (Virginia) Webb; David (Julie) Webb; sisters: Sally (Jim) Hayden; Joan (John) Seipel; Marilyn (Elwyn) La Brec; Judy (Bud) Bland; Nancy (Paul) Callaway; in-laws: Harry (Delores) Hurst; Audrey (Jerry) Driessen; Jeanette (Tom) VanDeHey; Cordell Hurst and Elsie Hurst. Marcella is further survived by many nephews, nieces and other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, Marcella was preceded in death by her loving husband, Kenneth on March 19, 1996; a son, Donald; brother, Gerald (Theresa) Webb; sister, Cecelia (Tom) Fedie; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Bernard and Mary Hurst; in laws: Cletus (Gert) Hurst; Floyd (Noreen) Hurst; Phillip Hurst and Betty Webb.
Memorial services will be held at 5:00 p.m. Thursday, February 10, 2011, at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, 323 S. Pine St., Little Chute, with Fr. Larry Canavera officiating. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery, Little Chute. Visitation will be 3:00 p.m. Thursday at the church until the time of the mass. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
A very special thank you to the Drs., nurses and staff at St. Elizabeth Hospital for their wonderful care and comfort during her last days.
