- Siebers, Cecelia (nee Nushart ), W2624 Barney Court, AppletonAge 83, died Friday, March 15, 2002 at Century Oaks in Darboy followi ng a short illness. She was born August 12, 1918 the daughter of the la te Joseph and Hannah (Auden) Nushart. On May 4, 1937 Cecelia was unit ed in marriage to Wilfred Siebers. Cecelia's strength of spirit and fierce ly loving personality will ensure that she lives on in the hearts of her f amily and friends. A child of Bohemian ancestry and the Great Depressio n, she learned the lessons of survival early. A tough, tender, caring a nd loyal personality, combined with a wonderful sense of humor and fun, en deared her to people of all ages. Games with her children grandchildren a nd finally great-grandchildren, always delighted her. "How're doing, kid ?" was her familiar greeting - sharing a laugh was her typical way of rela ting to all. Even in her last months at Century Oaks Residential Facilit y, her sense of humor and love of independence created many new relationsh ips. The staff became an extension of her family. She thought of them as h er friends and they returned her affections. Cecelia's family wishes to th ank the staff for their loving care of our mother. Wife, mother, homemake r, gourmet cook in the old traditions - she was multifaceted. She strove f or excellence in all these roles and took pride in them. Her husband, Wilf red, benefited from her culinary skills - his lunchbox always contained h er best efforts. She will be remembered for her turkey and dressing, lem on pies, dumplings, fancy cakes and true devotion to her family. "Watch t he cars" was her caring goodbye to anyone who was leaving and driving. Cec elia was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Kaukauna. She is surviv ed by a son and daughter-in-law: Thomas (Helen) Siebers, Sun Prairie; t wo daughters and two sons-in-law: Ginny (Al) DeBruin, Joyce (Chris) Bever s, all of Kaukauna; seven grandchildren: Christine LeMonde, California; Bi ll (Carmelle) Siebers, Reedsburg; Wendy (Rick) Gilbertson, Wausau; Tric ia (Andy) Yeager, Kaukauna; Mike DeBruin, Kaukauna; Gwen (Jamie) Hame l, La Crosse; James Bevers, Kaukauna; and two great-grandchildren: Stephan ie and Rachel Siebers. Cecelia is further survived by a sister, Josephi ne Granger; two sisters-in-law: Mabel Nushart and Dorothy Nushart. She w as preceded in death by her husband, Wilfred; daughter, Nancy Siebers; fo ur brothers: Richard, Robert, John and George Nushart; three sisters: E va Eppinger, Lillian Lenz and Marie Hurst. A memorial service will be he ld 4 p.m. Monday at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Kaukauna with Fr. Dav id Schmidt officiating. Burial in St. Mary Cemetery, Kaukauna. Friends m ay call directly at the church from 3 p.m. Monday until the time of servic es. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Cecelia's name to ThedaCa re Hospice.
