- Ione Van Sambeek, 86, Little Chute, passed away into the Lord's hands to join her late beloved husband, William Van Sambeek, on the morning of Dec. 31, 2011. She was born May 7, 1925, in Little Chute, daughter of Chris and Sophia (Janssen) Ebben.
Ione loved spending time with her family on annual camping trips, fun times at the cottage and family parties. She also enjoyed gardening and shopping. Most of all, Ione enjoyed being involved with all of her grandchildren. She prided herself on knowing about the lives of every member of her family. Ione was a member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, Little Chute.
Ione is lovingly survived by her children, Paula (Carl) Schroth, Dennis (Nancy), David (Julie), John (fiancee, Nancy Wagner) and Chris (Renee) Van Sambeek; 15 grandchildren, ten great grandchildren; numerous other relatives and friends.
Ione is preceded in death by her husband and parents.
Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012, at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, 323 S. Pine St., Little Chute, with the Rev. Bertrand Ebben, O.P., officiating. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery, Little Chute. Visitation will be on Saturday at the church from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.
A memorial has been established in Ione's name.
Ione's family would like to thank Dr. Elmer, Dr. Lewandowski, Dr. Bar-Lev and their staff, for their many years of faithful service to Ione.
