- Joseph W. Verbrick, 73, Little Chute, died Friday, Oct. 16, 2009, at Appleton Medical Center. He was born in Keshena, on Nov. 1, 1935, to the late Dr. Willard and Grace (Doyle) Verbrick. Joseph married Joan Vanden Heuvel at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church on June 21, 1958. They had 51 years together and had a lot of fun!
He graduated from St Norbert College, where he was the quarterback his senior year and led them to an undefeated season. Joseph later coached St. John CYO basketball. He also helped coach football and basketball at the high school and middle school levels.
Joe was a huge Packer fan. Anything you wanted to know about the Packers, he knew! We also had many fun parties at his home on Main St. Joe truly enjoyed being with family and friends. He also was an avid Notre Dame fan and Badger fan. He also enjoyed reading, blues and jazz music.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Joan; children, Jay (Shelly)Verbick, Darboy; and Shari (Scott) Van Asten, Kaukauna; grandchildren, Meghan Verbrick and Josh (Amber) Janssen; siblings, Vicki (Tim) Tousey and Vance (Pam) Verbrick; best friend, Paul Lamers; sister-in-law, Mary Jane Verbruggen; niece, Pam Van Gompel; and also Jazz, Snip and Cooper. He is further survived by other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by his brother, Willard "Bucky" Verbrick; parents; mother and father-in-law, Bill and Christine Vanden Heuvel; and friends, Bill and Ted.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2009, at ST. JOHN NEPOMUCENE CATHOLIC CHURCH (323 S. Pine St., Little Chute) beginning at 2 p.m. until time of Mass at 5 p.m. The Rev. James Hablewitz will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established.
