Davis, Margaret M. MONONA - MargaretM. Davis, age 87, of Monona, passed away on Tuesday, June 28, 2005, aft er a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Mineral Point, the dau ghter of John and Frieda (Wenger) Linden. Margaret was united in marria ge to Robert D. Davis in Yuma, Ariz. The couple resided in Hollywood, Cali f., for a few years before returning to Madison. Margaret was a hard work er who was employed as a "Rosie the Riveter" during World War II in Califo rnia, the restaurant field and in domestic areas before spending more th an 20 years as a nanny/ housekeeper for the Drs. James and Elizabeth Mille r. Throughout her life, she enjoyed many activities including dancing, car ds and bowling. Margaret and Bob spent many years camping with their fami ly and made many dear friends in the process. She thoroughly enjoyed the p eace, serenity and happiness this pastime brought to her. Margaret was a w onderful wife, mother and grandmother. She loved her family dearly. Margar et is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Gayle and Patrick Byr ne of McFarland; granddaughter, Lisa Marie Byrne of Stoughton; grandson, M atthew Byrne of McFarland; a brother-in-law, Fred of Arkansas; and many lo ving nieces, nephews and good friends. She was preceded in death by her hu sband, Robert; an infant daughter, Mary; her parents; brothers, Bernard (C leon and Bonnie), Hank (Kate), Henry, Clarence (Delta), Urban "Herbie" (Fr ancis) and Edward (Evelyn); and sisters, Kathryn (John) Keleny and Mary (N ed) Usher. A mass of Christian Burial will be held at IMMACULATE HEA RT OF MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5101 Schofield St., Monona, at 11 a.m., on Wed nesday, July 6, 2005, with Father John Meinholz presiding. Burial will fol low at Resurrection Cemetery.
