- Van Handel, Arthur H.Arthur H. Van Handel, of Appleton, age 90, passed away on Tuesday, March 2 9, 2005 at Rennes Health Center. He was born in Little Chute on August 2 4, 1914 to the late John and Bertha (Timmers) Van Handel. He farmed in t he Little Chute area while working for Kimberly Clark Corp., retiring in 1 974. He then worked for Van Handel Sand and Gravel, retiring from the re in 1982.Arthur was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church. He enjoyed bowlin g, golf and playing sheephead. He was married to Dorothy (Court) until h er death, May 1981. He married Elda Riehl on August 19, 1982.He is survived by his wife Elda; children: Darlene (Don) Lopas of Post Lak e, WI; Richard (Donna) Van Handel of Pickerel, WI; son-in-law, Roger Gre en of Little Chute; 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, seven step g randchildren, 11 great-step grandchildren and a great-great-step grandchil d. He is also survived by a stepson, Ken (Mary) Wehrman and a stepdaughte r, Carol DeWall; sisters-in-law: Antoinette Van Handel and Lila Kaddatz; t hree brothers-in-law: Elmer (Joyce) Court, Roland (Valda) Kaddatz and Ly le (Mary Jane) Kaddatz; special friend, Dave Tesch; other relatives and fr iends.In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by Dorothy; a daughte r, Karen Green; a son-in-law, Bud DeWall; two sisters and brothers-in-la w: Mary (Frank) Helein, Harriet (Lester) Haberland; two brothers and siste rs-in-law: Ted (Angeline), Norbert (Helen) Van Handel and another brothe r, Clarence; two brothers-in-law: James Court and Elmer Kaddatz; and a sis ter-in-law, Gladys Main.The Funeral Mass will be on Thursday, March 31, 2005 at 5 p.m. at St. Thom as More Catholic Church, 1810 N. McDonald St., with Father Gerald Falk off iciating. The visitation will be on Thursday at the church from 3 p.m. unt il the time of Mass.
