Alice K. Crook, age 94 of Spring Green, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2008, at Bloomfield Healthcare in Dodgeville. She was born on Oct. 31, 1914, in Arena the daughter of Nick and Mabel (Boylen) Meyer. She was married on April 12, 1934 to Virgil Crook. Alice was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Spring Green. Survivors include 10 children, JoAnn (Charles) VanFossen of Stoughton, Donna (Bill) Hopkins of Spring Green, Marie (Earl) Murphy of Dodgeville, Albert (Karen) Crook of Palatine, Ill., LeRoy (Carol) Crook of West Liberty, Iowa, DuWayne (Colleen) Crook of Tucson, Ariz., Marilyn (Irv) von Allmen of Dodgeville, Jim Crook of Spring Green, Howard (Kathy) Crook of Madison and Melvin (Karen) Crook of Waunakee; a daughter-in-law, Doris Crook of Ridgeway; 39 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren; five great great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Ken Crook of Skull Valley, Ariz.; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Crook of Dodgeville and Charlotte Crook of Phoenix, Ariz.; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nick and Mabel Meyer; her husband, Virgil Crook; a son, Ed Crook; and seven siblings, John Meyer, Hazel Eckstein, Pat Meyer, Marion Ziegler, Harold Meyer, Genevieve Meyer and Jeanette Cerro. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 4, 2009, at ST. JOHN'S CATHOLIC CHURCH in Spring Green. Fr. Mike Resop will officiate with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday at the church from 11 a.m. until the time of Mass. The family would like to express their gratitude to the Meadows in Spring Green and the Bloomfield Healthcare in Dodgeville for the excellent care they gave to Alice.
