- Van Grinsven, Grace (V an Eperen)Grace (Van Eperen) Van Grinsven, age 79, of Appleton, passed away peaceful ly at home July 11, 2006, after a courageous battle with cancer. Grace w as born on August 11, 1926, in Freedom, Wisconsin to George and Mary (V er Hagen) Van Eperen. On June 23, 1954, she married William Van Grinsve n. She was proud to be a homemaker, mother, and a grandmother.Grace is survived by two sons, David (Donna) Van Grinsven [Rose and Joa n] of Appleton and Carl (Wanda) Van Grinsven [Zack and Abby Grace] of N ew London; a daughter, Janice (Keith) O'Leary [Chad and Rachel] of Janesvi lle; her sister, Lauretta Vande Hey-Sanderfoot; sisters-in-law, Harriet "R ick" Coppens and Liz (Len) Bekx; and brothers-in-law: Ed Van Grinsven, M ax (Shirley) Van Grinsven, and Harry (Marge) Van Grinsven.Grace was preceded in death by her brothers: Elmer Ver Hagen, Larry (Pegg y) Van Eperen, and Ferdinand (Helen) Van Eperen; brother-in-law, Ted Coppe ns; and sisters-in-law, Mary Van Grinsven and Petra (Chris) Van De Ven.Grace loved her children and their families. She enjoyed taking care of h er grandchildren and doting on them. "Grandma Grace" loved being the careg iver to Brock and Alison Schwaegler, and Ashley and Matthew Gonnering. S he was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and always enjoyed watching ma ss on T.V.The family would like to thank Grace's neighbors: Larry and Therese Ann Go nnering for always being there to help in good times and in bad. Also, tha nks to my special niece, Gale Timmers, and Max and Shirley Van Grinsven f or visiting on a daily basis, your care and concern were very appreciate d. Thank you to Dr. Robert Fox, nurses Kathy and Barb, Dr. David Dupple r, Dr. Avi Bar-Lev, and their staffs for taking such good care of Grace.Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 13, 2006, from 5 p.m.-7 p. m. at the Funeral Home and again at St. Mary's Catholic Church (312 S. Sta te Street, Appleton) on Friday, July 14, 2006, from 9:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m. T he funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church at 10:30 a. m. on Friday, July 14, 2006.
