- Jane E. Timm, age 93, of Appleton, died Wednesday afternoon, March 11, 2015, at St. Elizabeth Hospital. Jane was born on December 2, 1921 in Appleton, the daughter of the late John J. and Rosinen (Birling) Vander Linden. Jane married Raymond Timm on April 13, 1946. He preceded her in death on September 14, 2012. Together, they had one son, Ronnie, who passed away at the age of 9.
Jane worked at a neighborhood grocery store for a short time, after which she was a homemaker. She enjoyed people and loved to spend time visiting relatives. Jane was a great friend to her neighbors (and their dogs) and they, in turn, were very good to her. She had a sweet tooth and would not turn down a cookie or sweet roll. Jane had a remarkable memory, sharing detailed stories of life in Appleton during the early 1900's.
Jane was preceded in death by her parents, husband and son, brothers; John (Eleanor), Clifford (Evelyn) and James (Veronica), and sisters; Mayme (Jack) Braun, Viola (Clifford) Tierney, Rose (Bill) Schuldes, Agnes (Albert) Jansen and Esther (Harold) Dehn. Jane is survived by a brother in law, Robert Lueck and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at 11:00 am at Valley Funeral Home, 2211 N. Richmond St, Appleton, with Deacon Mark Farrell officiating. A time of visiting and sharing of memories will be held before the service, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Appleton. Per Jane's wishes, in lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established in her name.
The family would like to thank the medical staff on 3rd floor at St. Elizabeth Hospital for their kindness and care for Jane.
Aunt Jane, we will miss your sassy sense of humor and your sly smile, we are grateful to have had you in our lives and we know there is one more angel in heaven to make the world a better place! -
