  Florence M. Selig, resided at Brewster Village, died September 6, 200 4, at the age of 84. She was born in Appleton, Wisconsin on January 21, 19 20, the daughter of the late John and Caroline (Zuleger) Klarner. She grad uated from Appleton High School and was a long time member of Zion Luther an Church, Appleton. On March 3, 1941, she married Elmer P. Selig. They sh ared their life together for 54 years in Appleton until Elmer's death in 1 995. Florence was employed by House of Steward Cosmetics, Viking Sewing, N ewcomers Greeting Service and Zwicker Knitting Mills, until her retireme nt in 1985. She also volunteered her time to the "Gray Ladies". Her lo ve of public speaking was evident through several awards received from "T he Toastmistress Club". She enjoyed playing golf and was a member of Ridge way Country Club for many years. She is survived by a son, James J. Selig, Appleton; two daughters and sons -in-law, Katherine and Gary Donelson, Appleton; Suzanne and John Leathersi ch, Middleton, WI; a son-in-law, Frank Walker, Appleton; seven grandchildr en, Dawn (Robert) Spector, England; Cassandra (Scott) DeWitt, Appleton; Ch adwick Walker, Sun Prairie; Michael Selig, Appleton; Caroline Walker and h er fiance, Scott Pelkin, Appleton; Kiley Davis, Clinton Twp, MI; Kathryn R ae Leathersich, Middleton; two great-grandsons, Parker and Prescott DeWit t; a great-granddaughter, Alexandria DeWitt, Appleton. She is also preceded in death by her youngest daughter, Janet Rae Walker. Funeral services for Florence will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, September 1 0, 2004, at Zion Lutheran Church, 912, North Oneida Street, with Revere nd Larry Matthews officiating. Burial will be in Appleton Highland Memori al Park. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m., Thursday, Sep tember 9, and at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of the s ervice. Florence was a person you would be proud to have as a friend, a daughte r, wife, mother, mother-in-law and grandmother. She enjoyed life all w ho have known her will miss Florence. The family would like to thank the staff at Brewster Village for the excel lent care they provided for her and their understanding of the sadness ass ociated with Alzheimer's Disease.
