- Sensenbrenner, Margaret Ione "Midge" AppletonDied on Tuesday afternoon, December 30, 2003, surrounded by her family a nd the supportive staff of Colony Oaks Care Center. Midge will be miss ed by many and always remembered for her kindness and warm greetings.Midge was born on April 9, 1920, in Menasha to Charles C. and Irene (Hawle y) Gear. Midge was a class A French Horn player with the Menasha High Scho ol championship band winning numerous awards. She married Raymond F. Sense nbrenner on September 6, 1941, sharing 62 years together.Midge served two terms as the President of the St. Elizabeth Hospital Auxi liary, Appleton. She led the auxiliary with her high energy. She start ed a hospital charity ball for fund raising, wherein noted performers su ch as Bob Crosby, Wayne King and Guy Lombardo entertained each year. She w as a past President of Sacred Heart and St. Joseph Christian Mothers, a nd a former Girl Scout leader. Midge was a Realtor for 30+ years and was t he first female realtor in the Fox cities. She enjoyed speaking to high sc hool classes about vocations, especially encouraging the girls to seek a ny career that they can dream of.Midge enjoyed golf, music, singing in the church choir and Sweet Adeline' s, dancing at the Appleton and Menasha Elks Clubs, and spending time wi th family and friends at their cottage on Lake Michigan in Door County a nd at their condo in Punta Gorda, Florida. She loved people and will be re membered for her ability to "warm up" a group.She is survived by her husband Raymond F.; son Richard R. (Julie) Sensenbr enner, Appleton; son James B. (Carol) Sensenbrenner, Appleton; daughter Ma ry Jo Jensen (Erick), Appleton; 12 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren; s ister Alice Weber, Menasha; sister-in-law Mildred Hengsteler, Appleton; a nd sister-in-law Miriam Sensenbrenner, Bayonette Point, Florida. She was p receded in death by her parents Charles and Irene Gear, and sister Sybil ( Gear) Felton.A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 AM, Friday, January 2, at St. J oseph Catholic Church, 404 W. Lawrence St., Appleton. Friends may call fr om 9:30 AM Friday at the church. A memorial will be established in Midge 's name to benefit the Alzheimer's Association of greater Northeastern Wis consin-Fox Valley Chapter. Midge's family thanks the loving and caring sta ff of Colony Oaks Care Center for their incredible care and kindness.
