- Van Camp, Gera ld J.Gerald J. Van Camp Sr., Freedom, age 72, died Tuesday, January 31, 200 6. He was born November 28, 1933, to the late Frank and Magdalene (Bies e) Van Camp in Town of Freedom. Jerry married the former Donna Mae Ludw ig on August 11, 1955, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, she preceded h im in death on January 18, 1989. He was a charter member of the Freedom Li ons Club and past president serving from 1983-1984 and a lifelong memb er of St. Nicholas Catholic Church. Jerry enjoyed farming and the outdoor s, which led him to sell snowmobiles and deal cattle over the years.He is survived by his five children: Bob (Eileen) Van Camp and their thr ee children: Travis (Iga), Jamie and Justin; Cindy (Dave) Kleuskens and th eir four children: Kyle, Karisa, Kory, Kelcie; Nancy (Rick) Van Gheem; Bi ll (Colleen) Van Camp and their two children: Jordan and Hayden; and Bud ( April) Van Camp and their three children: Megan, Loren and Owen; a siste r, Mary Van De Hey; three brothers: Glen (Theresa) Van Camp, Gene (Lori) V an Camp and Floyd (Joan) Van Camp; a brother-in-law, Melvin Ludwig and t wo sisters-in-law: Bede Ludwig, Marilyn Ludwig; and many nieces, nephews a nd friends.He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Donna, two brothers: Ma rcel and Alois Van Camp and five brothers-in-law: Richard (Regina), Robe rt (Donna), Joseph, Ronald and James Ludwig.Gerald's Mass of Christian Burial will be 2 p.m. on Friday February 3, 20 06 at ST. NICHOLAS CATHOLIC CHURCH, Freedom with Fr. John Schuetze officia ting. Friends will be received on Friday at Church from 10 a.m. until t he time of service. Burial will take place in the Church Cemetery. In li eu of flowers, a memorial is being established.
