  Grode, Mildred Mary (Nee Wes t)Mildred M. Grode, of Kaukauna, age 95 years, died Sunday, December 25, 200 5, at St. Paul Home. She was born December 3, 1910 in Kaukauna, a daught er of the late Peter and Sarah (McCormick) West. Mildred married Edmund Gr ode on April 14, 1931, in Kaukauna. She was a former member of Holy Cro ss Catholic Church and the Ladies of Holy Cross. Mildred volunteered ma ny years for Kaukauna Hospital Auxiliary. She enjoyed reading, crochetin g, politics, and was an avid writer of letters to family and friends. Mild red was strong in her faith and loved spending time with her grandchildr en and great-grandchildren.Mildred is survived by her sons: Ken (Carol) Grode of Kaukauna; Brian (Mar ian) Grode of Wrightstown; and Gene Peter Grode of San Clemente, CA; her d aughter, Sherry Wynboom of Appleton; daughter-in-law, Rosie Grode of Freed om; 19 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaught er. She is further survived by a sister-in-law, Gloria Grode of Little Chu te; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.She was preceded in death by her husband, Edmund, daughter, Marilyn Grod e, son, Wayne Grode, two brothers: Cyril and Lyle West; six sisters: Nell ie Berendsen, Arlene VanHandel, Leila Remmel, Florence Lambie, Margaret Ho lum and Mary Kerscher.The funeral liturgy will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 29, 200 5, at HOLY CROSS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 309 Desnoyer St., Kaukauna, with Fr. Ja ck Mullarkey officiating. Interment will take place at the parish cemeter y. Friends may call at the Church on Thursday from 9 a.m. until the ti me of mass. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Mi ldred's name.Special thanks to Dr. Gregory Johnson, the hospice staff at ThedaCare at H ome and the staff at St. Paul Villa and Nursing Home.
