  Geneva T. Hanges, age 79, of Appleton, passed away unexpectedly, Wednesday, February 4, 2009, at Appleton Medical Center. She was born February 16, 1929, to the late Mathias and Valesca (Stommel) Hopfensperger, in Darboy and had been an area resident all of her life. Geneva loved flowers and was a long time florist at Kimberly Flowers and Reynebeau Floral. She married John J. Hanges on August 5, 1948. Geneva is survived by her children: Linda (Dale) Spoehr, Colorado Springs, CO; Jonathon (Chris) Hanges, Kimberly; Keith (Mary) Hanges, Darboy; Tina Ferro, Appleton: her grandchildren: Rebecca, Joseph, Michael, Joshua, Jessica, Jared, Emily, Adam and Courtney: her great-grandchildren: Thomas, Patrick, Dominick, Kalaeb, Shjon, Lain and Kali. She was preceded in death by her husband, John J. Hanges, September 2, 2007. Funeral services for Geneva will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, February 7, 2009, at the funeral home with Reverend Kurt Kovanan officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.
