- Evers, Josephine M.Josephine M. Evers, age 100, died on Saturday, April 30, 2005, at Francisc an Care Center, Appleton. Josephine was born on May 1, 1904, in the Litt le Chute to the late Arnold and Lena (William-son) Van Handel. She marri ed Frank H. Evers, on November 25, 1926; he preceded her in death. Josephi ne was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. She was employed at Applet on Woolen Mills (Voith) for over 45 years as a splicer of paper machine fe lts. Josephine was also a homemaker and seamstress who made many wedding g owns, communion dresses and all kinds of alterations.Survivors include her daughter, Isabelle (Kenneth E.) Kopiske, Sr., Applet on; her five grandchildren, Timothy (Shirley) Kopiske, Sr.; Maureen (Donal d) Reinert; Thomas (Linda) Kopiske; Michael (Tina) Kopiske; and Kenneth (T ammy) Kopiske, Jr; eight great grandchildren; two step-great grandchildr en and their families; many nieces and nephews. She is further surviv ed by her brothers, Theodore and John Frances; her sisters, Gertrude Verku ilen and Margaret Phillips; sisters-in-law, Lorraine (Ed) and Geraldine (H enry).Josephine was preceded in death by her sons, Gerald and Robert; her brothe rs, Henry, Martin, Joseph A. and Edward and Henry P. Van Handel; her infa nt brother, Henry; her sisters, Agnes and Mary; sisters-in-law, Elizabe th (Ted), Arlene and Leona (Henry), Mary (John F.) and Harriet (Joe A.); a nd her brothers-in-law, Joseph (Mary) Van Handel, Jacob (Gertrude) Verkuil en, Sylvester (Margaret) Phillips.The Funeral Liturgy will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 3, 2005, at S T. MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 312 South State Street, Appleton, with Fr. Micha el K. O'Rourke officiating. Friends may call directly at the church on Tue sday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services. Interment will be in St. J ohn Catholic Church Cemetery, Little Chute. The family would like to exte nd a sincere thank you to Dr. Theresa Lee, the staff at Franciscan Care Ce nter for their loving care, and especially to the good people of St. Ma ry Catholic Church for their prayers and help with getting her to and fr om the special prayer services that were so important in her life.
