- Andrew Wittmann, 76, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 12, 2009, at Theda Clark Medical Center. He was born March 23, 1933, the son of the late Michael "M.J." and Mary Ann (Mader) Wittmann. He married Dorothy Schabo on June 11, 1955, in Neenah.
Andy had a Master's Degree in education from UWO. He taught 40 years at Franklin School, Appleton. He coached football, basketball and baseball teams with 103 consecutive wins in basketball. He was a wide receiver on the Menasha High School undefeated 1951 football team and the UWO football team. He operated Wittmann's Funland on State 47 between Menasha and Appleton. He was a veteran of the Army Artillary and was stationed in Panama.
He is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy; four sons and daughters-in-law, Terry and Tammy, Todd and Kathy, Ted and Sharon, Troy and Dawn; seven grandchildren, Taylor, Tierney, Teagan, Brandon, Alisha, Riley and Parker. He is further survived by special friends, Roger and Carol Berken, Bill and Vicky LaBar.
Funeral Services for Andy will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2009, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 324 Nicolet Blvd., with Father Larry Canavera officiating. Family and friends will be received at a visitation on Wednesday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of service. Interment will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Menasha.
A memorial is being established.
