- Luella Mae Grissman, Kaukauna, age 72, died at home Monday, September 29, 2008, surrounded by her family. She was born in Kimberly on March 5, 1936, to the late Ben and Hattie (Jansen) Van Dyke. On June 25, 1955, Luella married Roy Grissman at Holy Name Parish in Kimberly. He preceded her in death on August 27, 2005, after 50 years of marriage. Lou was a member of St. Katharine Drexel Parish-St. Mary Site, where she sang in the choir. She was also a member of the Kaukauna VFW Auxiliary #3319. Lou enjoyed her card club, bowling, dancing and singing.
Luella is survived by her children: Tom Grissman, Jill (Michael) Koss and Sheri Grissman, all of Kaukauna; her granddaughters: Kylie and Emily Koss; brothers: Elmer (Judy), Marvin (Kathy) and Dan (Barb) Van Dyke; sisters and brothers-in-law: Dick (Bea), Don (Eunice), Mary and Vi Grissman, Joyce Alt and Helen Baeten; and close friends: Ron and Elaine Simpson, Cory, Angela, Allie Jo and Coryna Wittmann, and Jane and Gene Schaefer. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Luella was preceded in death by her husband, Roy; her parents, Ben and Hattie Van Dyke; her father and mother-in-law, Herman and Mary Grissman; and brothers and sisters-in-law: Carl, Jerry (Toni) and Bob Grissman, Collet (Andy) Walton, Marvin Baeten and Dave Alt.
Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday October 2, 2008, until the time of Mass at 5 p.m. at ST. KATHARINE DREXEL PARISH-ST. MARY SITE (119 W. 7th St. Kaukauna). The Rev. Jerome Pastors will officiate. Committal Highland Memorial. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established.
