- Gerald L. Schreier CASHTON, Wis. - Gerald L. Schreier, 73, of Cashton died Friday, Aug. 16, 2 002, at the Franciscan Skemp Hospital in La Crosse. He was born Aug. 3, 19 29, to Antone and Emma (Hericks) Schreier on St. Mary's Ridge near Cashto n. On Dec. 28, 1968, he was united in marriage to Ann Hansen at St. Mary 's Ridge Church. He was a longtime member of the Catholic Order of Foreste rs.Farming and spending time with his family was the most important intere st in Gerald's life. After retiring from farming for over 30 years, he enj oyed wood working projects, such as making flower trellises, bird houses a nd wooden flowers. Gerald was also very close to his grandchildren and lov ed watching them any time his family needed him.He is survived by his wife, Ann; seven children, Carol (Phillip) Gronem us of Cashton, Doris (Russell) Mack of Norwalk, Norma (Robert) Leis of Cas hton, Lora (Travis) Campton of Cashton, Cindy (Bart) Culpitt of Norwalk, M argie (Dan) Brownell of Cashton and John Schreier of Norwalk; 14 grandchil dren, Jacob, Sarah, Mark, Rebecca and Nicholas Gronemus, Kaleb, Chelsey, a nd Katelin Mack, Danielle and Ethan Leis, Mariah, Kole and Dylan Hampton a nd Allison Brownell; one brother, Jerome (Marcella) Schreier of Cashton; a nd one sister, Rita (Gerald) Barry of Cashton; one sister-in-law, Joan Sch reier of West Bend, Wis.; and many other nieces, nephews relatives and fri ends.He was preceded in death by his parents; one infant son, Mark; one brothe r, Leonard; and one sister, Cecelia Hemersbach and husband, LaVerne.Funeral services will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Mary's Rid ge Catholic Church on St. Mary's Ridge. Father Eric Berns will officiat e. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Relatives and friends are in vited for visitation at the Torkelson Funeral Home in Cashton on Sunday, A ug. 18, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. Rosary will be recited at 8 p. m. Visitation will also be held Monday at the funeral home from 9 to 10 a. m. The Torkelson Funeral Home in Cashton will be assisting the family wi th arrangements.
