- Hardy, LidaLida Hardy, age 84, formerly of Appleton, died on Saturday, January 1, 200 5, in Neenah. Lida was born on June 10, 1920, to the late Frank and Barba ra (Linsmeyer) Duffek, on the family farm in Seymour and following the dea th of her mother, she had to quit school to help raise her brother and sis ters. She had been married to Owen Hardy for 52 years; he preceded h er in death on January 6, 1997. Lida was a loving wife, mother, grandmothe r, great-grandmother and caregiver. She enjoyed gardening, baking, cooki ng and the time spent with her family at "The Lake."Survivors include her sons, Owen T. Hardy, Jr. and James R. Hardy; her gra ndchildren, Tony (Denise) Hardy, Jason (Heather) Hardy, Kelly (Steve) Groa t, Chip (Jennifer) Hardy and Shannon (Doug) Daniels; her great-grandchildr en, Amanda, Anthony, Joshua, Lakelann, Alissa, Jadyn, Isabella and Conno r. She is also survived by good neighbors and friends, Dave, Carol, Jul ie and Gloria.She was preceded in death by her twin brother, Leo, and her sisters, El ma and Lorraine.The Funeral Liturgy will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 4, 2005, at SAC RED HEART CATHOLIC CHURCH, 222 East Fremont Street, Appleton, with Fr. Rob ert Karuhn officiating. Friends may call directly at the church on Tuesd ay from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services. Interment will be in St. Ma ry Cemetery, Appleton.The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to all of Lida's careg ivers, the staffs of Geri-Care and Greenville Manor for their loving car e. A memorial has been established in her name.
