- Van Boxtel, Wilma , "Willie", Little Chute, Age 84, died unexpectedly Wednesday, September 11, 2002 at St. Elizabeth Hospital. Willie was born May 26, 1918 in Freedom; daughter of the late William and Minnie (Weyenberg) Vosters. She married Peter Van Boxtel on June 15, 1937 at St. Therese Catholic Church, Appleton, and he preceded her in death less than one month ago, August 13, 2002. Willie was a member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, Little Chute. She enjoyed playing cards, baking and throwing a batch of homemade candy together to share with family and friends. Her most time-consuming hobby was picking and cleaning hickory nuts. She was always able to sell all the hickory nuts; however, Willie always kept some for her family. Her most cherished time was spent at the cottage, surrounded by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Willie is survived by her six children: Janice (Jerry) Dunham, Kaukauna; Donna (Ervin) Arnoldussen, Kaukauna; Terry (Carol) Van Boxtel, Kaukauna; Duane Van Boxtel, Little Chute; Vicki Zobel, Kaukauna; Rick (Kathy) Van Boxtel, Little Chute; 16 grandchildren: Angela (Robert) Schreiner, Shari (Gregg) Kahler, James Dunham, Stacey (Michael) Schmidt, Todd (Mary) Arnoldussen, Tammy (Jay) Van Deurzen, Tory (Fred) Jahnke, Todd (Heather) Van Boxtel, Lona Van Boxtel and fiance Darren Olson, Tara (Quentin) Kasuboski, Kathy (Joe) Van Offeren, Kerry Zobel, Kelly (Joe) Chernowski, Christopher Van Boxtel and special friend Kristin, Jason Van Boxtel, Tiffany Van Boxtel; a sister, Myrtle Hietpas; three sisters-in-law: Sally O'Connell, Florence Zuren, Bernice (Chet) Kriplean; three brothers-in-law: Cory (Betty), Joe (Delores) and Rich (Carol) Van Boxtel; also survived by special friends, Mary Jane Hartjes and Vi Hietpas. Willie was preceded in death by her husband, Peter Van Boxtel; a son-in-law, Gerald "Jerry" Zobel; a sister, Marie (Jim) Hietpas; a brother, Harold (Lydia) Vosters; and a brother-in-law, Austin Hietpas.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 14, 2002 at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, Little Chute with Rev. Msgr. James Vanden Hogen officiating. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery. Friends may call at the Verkuilen Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. Friday, and at the church from 10 a.m. Saturday until the time of the mass. A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, followed by the rosary.
