- Harry A. Verkuilen, Appleton, 81, passed away on Thursday May 24, 2007, at Colony Oaks Care Center, after a lengthy illness. Harry was born Nov. 11, 1925, son of the late John and Anne (Van De Woyer) Verkuilen. Harry married Rosemary O'Bright on Aug. 5, 1951, and she survives him. Harry was employed at the Neenah Foundry for 35 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working in the yard.
In addition to his wife, Rosemary, Harry is survived by his children, Julie (Jon) Walbrum and Harold (Helen Zoern). He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jeffery (Molly) Walbrum, and Adam (Melisa) Walbrum; one brother George Verkuilen; five sisters-in-law, Gertrude, Bernice, Marie, Ann, and Ella Verkuilen; a special friend and neighbor, Kathy Recker and many nieces and nephews.
Harry is preceded in death by six brothers, Martin, Jake, Antone, Sylvester, John, and Joe Verkuilen and four sisters, Christine Herman, Anna Vanden Bogart, Marie Briton, and a sister in childbirth, Josephine.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday May 30, 2007, at the Wichmann Funeral Home Tri County Chapel with Pastor Kurt Kovanen officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until the time of services. Entombment will be at Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. A memorial is being established.
