- Moorehead, GladysGladys Moorehead, age 82, formerly of Appleton, died November 8, 200 5, at Villages of Florida Hospice Center in The Villages, Florida, with h er children by her side. Gladys was born July 29, 1923 in Appleton, daught er of the late Frank and Eva Kampo. On September 25, 1948 she married Char les Moorehead Sr. at St. Therese Catholic Church in Appleton, sharing 57 y ears together. Gladys was a devoted mother and worked all her life at ho me caring for her family. She will be sadly missed by her family and frien ds.Survivors include her husband, Charles, and five children and their spouse s: Pat (Bill) Vander Weyst of Kaukauna; Mary (John) Brose of Waupaca, Char les (Davina) Moorehead Jr. of Appleton, Nancy (Ken) Stumpf of Kimberly; a nd Jackie (Dan) Birr of Appleton; 12 grandchildren: Scott (Rochelle) Vand er Weyst, Nichol Vander Weyst (special friend Derrick Kern), Kristen and K erry Brose, Jeremy and Eric Moorehead, Shelly and Samantha Stumpf, Dani el Jr., Markus, Tiffany, and Brianna Birr; a great-grandchild, Chase Jose ph Vander Weyst; a sister, Elaine (Andy) Lambie, brother, Jim (Carol) Kamp o, sisters-in-law: Dorothy and Collette Kampo, and many numerous nieces a nd nephews.Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, granddaughter, Cassie Lynn St umpf, and two brothers: Alex and Roland Kampo.A Memorial Mass for Gladys will be celebrated 5 p.m. Wednesday, November 3 0, 2005 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 222 E. Fremont St., Appleton, wi th Fr. Robert Karuhn officiating. Friends will be received directly at t he church (Sacred Heart Room) from 3 p.m. Wednesday until the time of serv ice. A memorial fund is being established.Riding on a country road continuing for miles; a final wish, a last reques t, selflessly was granted. Through our memories will reveal her love for b utterflies; A fragile creature, gorgeous colors, enticed a warming smil e. It hurts immensely that she is gone, but remember she's in Heaven; A lo ving soul, a guiding light, a true angel up above.
