- Thelma Rose Micke, 84, passed away Sunda y, Sept. 29, 2002, at Community Memorial Hospital in Cloquet. She was bo rn Dec. 14, 1917, in Washington, D.C., to Sam and Caroline (Gerardi) Zoltr ow. Thelma married Anthony Micke on Nov. 27, 1945. She worked at MGM Studi os as a film editor, at the Pentagon in Washington D.C., and at Chris Jens en Nursing Home as a nurse's aide until her retirement in 1977. She w as a member of the D.A.V. and the Hebert Kennedy VFW 3979 Auxiliary. Thel ma enjoyed crocheting, knitting and especially loved to cook.
She was preceded in death by her parents.She is survived by her husband, Anthony; daughters, Antonette (Robin) Horn er of Cloquet, Carol (Greg) Stromberg of Minneapolis, Frances (Roger) Schi lling of Duluth, and Mary Micke of Duluth; grandchildren, Joshua Batema n, James, Tammy, Sandra and Jenny Schilling, and Amber Micke; great-grandc hildren, Bailey Ann, Jessie and Heather.Visitation was held Wednesday, Oct. 3, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Ma ss of Christian Burial at Queen of Peace Church, Cloquet. The Rev. Fath er Frank Paquette officiated. Pallbearers were Thelma's grandchildren.Arrangements are by Wefelmeyer-Handevidt Funeral Home, Cloquet.
