CORNELIUS WILLEMS DIED UNEXPECTEDLY OF HEART FAILURE Cornelius Willems, a well known resident of the west side for nearly half a century, was found dead in bed yesterday morning. He had been stopping a few days with his daughter, Mrs. Albert VanderHeiden of Lawrence, and although he had complained Wednesday afternoon of not feeling well, retired that night in seemingly good health. One of his grandsons, a lad of about five years, had slept with him, and after he went downstairs for his breakfast and came up again to wake him, he found that his grandfather was dead. A physician was called, who ascribed his sudden death to heart failure, and give it as his opinion that Mr. Willems passed away about midnight. Mr. Willems was born in St. Antonius, Holland, June 4, 1834, having reached the age of 76 years. He came here in 1861 and lived here ever since. His wife died about two years ago and he is survived by five children: John, Frank, Louise (Mrs. Albert Vander Heiden), Henry and Nellie, all of the west side. The funeral will be held from St. Boniface's church tomorrow morning at 9 o'clock, with interment at Mount Calvary."
