  Herman Joseph Franz Gardnerville, Nevada Age 78, died July 2, 2000 at Carson Tahoe Hospital. He was born Februa ry 1, 1922 in Appleton, son of Emil Franz and Kate Wittmann. Herman received a B.S. Degree in Chemical Engineering, and was a Chemic al/Corrosion Engineer. He also served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and resided in Gardne rville for the past 12 years, coming from Richmond, California. Herman is survived by his wife, Rosem ary (Meulemans) Franz; daughter, Margaret Ann Franz, Lafayette, California; a son, John Fran z, Richmond, California; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Mass was held at St. Gall's Catholic Church in Gardnervil le at 10 a.m., July 6, 2000. Burial will take place at Eastside Cemetery following the mass. Walton's of Dougl as County Mortuary is assisting the family.
